River Valley Villa

River Valley Villa is a 2 bedroom former artist’s studio set on 5 acres of gently sloping pasture surrounded by red & blue gum trees. With views over the valley and across the Margaret River to the forests of Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, staying at the Villa is a feast for the senses. The area is full of wildlife and birds often serenade guests in the evening. Admiring sunsets, tracking moon journeys, marvelling at the bright stars in the wide expanse of sky, watching the weather rolling in, exploring the paperbark forest at the river edge and kayaking are only some of the experiences available to our guests.

River Valley Villa has 2 storeys with a private limestone entrance leading to the front door on the top floor. This leads to an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area which opens onto the deck. Enjoy your views from the balcony while enjoying a gourmet barbeque or a glass of the world-famous local wine. The kitchen overlooks the walled garden, stream (with fish) and courtyard of the property. View the surrounding terraced gardens and stonework featuring local limestone and granite.  Above the lounge is an open plan loft area, accessible by ladder, which is the third sleeping area with a queen size bed. Downstairs has 2 queen bedrooms and a combined bathroom (shower only) with toilet and laundry. A small open plan area downstairs has a single bed, a pull out spare single bed and cot if needed. There is a door opening out to the driveway and rear lower level.

For comfort all year round the house has a reverse cycle air-conditioner.  The house is set up for all of your home comforts including a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine & dryer, wireless internet & local phone, LCD television, DVD player and stereo. The bedrooms have oil column heaters and pedestal fans.

For your leisure we have kayaks available for use (for the able-bodied only!). Wander down and take one of our boats down through the paper barks to our private river access. Launch one of our boats and a leisurely 15 min paddle will take you to the Rivermouth where you can swim at the popular beach (observe current safe swimming advice) and watch some world class surfing. You can also walk to the Rivermouth via the ‘Cape to Cape’ track and around to Cape Mentelle, or walk south towards Redgate Beach. Or you can check the swell and in minutes be out surfing at any of Margaret River’s legendary breaks.

Perfect safe family swimming is minutes away at Gnarabup Beach. This protected beach has a boat ramp, lovely snorkelling and the well known “White Elephant Cafe’ for great coffee! (check seasonal opening times).

River Valley Villa is located next to the property’s original home, Pearl River House, but maintains its privacy by both houses being oriented in different directions.

Please note that guests do not have access to the walled garden or courtyard, so as to preserve privacy and space between the two houses, unless a guest has booked the whole property.

Testimonials – River Valley Villa

“Perfect Getaway – River Valley Villa is in the most perfect location, quiet and peaceful but only minutes from Margaret River town and Prevelly beach. Booking was straight forward and Anya & Natasha were great communicators and very easy to deal with. Well recommended for a restful stay (early morning calls from the resident Kookaburras permitting!)”

“Perfect Weekend Away – We had a lovely stay at River Valley Villa. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom is clean and has one of those enormous shower heads. But the really wonderful thing about the place is the location. The balcony looks out across a pasture and down to the river. You can wander through the trees and suddenly find yourself on the river bank which feels almost enchanted under the shade of twisted trees growing out of the cracked black ground which must be covered in water in the winter and the river glittering serenely past in the blinding sunlight. It’s also a minute’s drive from the beach and the Saturday markets and the shops. My parents were visiting from Sydney and had a lovely time. Our dog was in heaven.”

“Really close to Margaret River and Prevelly dog beach, making it easily accessible. My father in law is a keen bird watcher, the location of the villa with the trees and valley made it an excellent location for bird watching on the first day alone he saw a pair of wedge tail eagles and several other birds that he had not seen before. The villa has excellent facilities with everything provided. The welcome bottle of wine was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend the villa to friends and family and we hope to visit again ourselves.”

“Wonderful Accommodations in Margaret River – My family just returned from several days at this terrific property. Everything was just perfect. Anya was responsive and supportive from first e-mail contact. The property is spectacularly situated a short distance between the Margaret River town site and Prevelly with super easy access to caving, wineries, and the whale watching options in Augusta. The house was a perfect fit for the 4 of us plus our Labrador, and perfectly outfitted for all our cooking and leisure needs.”
